Being a busy mom often means looking for more efficient ways of doing your everyday tasks. These five tips can help make doing the laundry easier, faster, and possibly more fun. 1. Use a Mesh Garment Bag for Little Socks o Mesh bags are both cheap and easy to clip on the side of the hamper. Once there, you can separate the small socks from the larger clothes in one easy action. This makes sorting after washing super simple because they are already together in one place. This tip is especially helpful when you wash your child's clothing with your own. No more finding that missing sock in your pant leg. 2. Use Cold Water on Tough Stains o Rinse stains with cold water before treating them. Hot water can make stains like blood set into the fabric. 3. Designate Baskets for Each Child/Person in the Household o By everyone having their own basket, sorting through clothing can move a lot quicker. Pull the clothes out of the dryer and toss them into the correct basket in preparation for folding. 4. Make Folding Fun o Even little ones can learn how to fold their clothes. While folding laundry may not be the most exciting task, you can make it fun by spending time together doing it. Use this time to talk with your children, sing nursery rhymes, for learning, or listen to an audiobook. The possibilities are endless. 5. Mark the Drawers o This tip may be especially useful if you have more than one child. Depending on the material of the dressers, you can use a dry erase marker, decal, or sticker to indicate what goes where. Doing this will make putting clothes away quicker for you. As a bonus, if you have your younger children put away their own clothes, the chore can become a fun matching game. |
